DEVELOPING … The 80’s Cruise has had a Passenger Jump Overboard, Initial Reports are Alleging it was a Band Member’s Fiancee’ – Metal Sludge

The Caribbean — Unfortunate news to report here as we’ve been receiving incoming over-night and early today that a Passenger on The 80’s Cruise has jumped overboard.The 80’s Cruise is currently out on a Royal Caribbean ship named The Explorer of the Seas and it left Miami Florida on Sunday March 2nd and is scheduled to sail through March 9th 2025. Late last night, just after 10:30pm (EST) reports are saying that the ship sounded its ‘Man Overboard‘ alarm system and passengers were instructed on what to do. A Royal Caribbean Blog reported the incident which in part reads: “Multiple reports on social media from passengers on Explorer of the Seas were posted online. The incident happened around 11 p.m. on the first day of the sailing.

“Day 1 of the 80s cruise, all going well, then we hear “Oscar Oscar Oscar” overhead. And sure enough, the ship is turning around to search. Officer just came over the PA to announce the details,” said Reddit user SkySeaSnow.”As of this morning, there was no firm word on what happened, but information has started to leak and rumors are saying it was a Woman who jumped from an 8th story balcony off a room. Some reports are noting that other passengers witnessed this, and the ship immediately deployed emergency personnel and the related procedures to try and locate the passenger in the water.Metal Sludge spoke to someone on the ship, who also told us that other ships joined in the overnight search which lasted for approximately 3-4 hours.The same Royal Caribbean Blog reported the incident which in part reads: “Cruise ship tracking data showed Explorer stopping and reversing course to conduct a search for the person.

In fact, other cruise ships that were in the area joined in the search. Mapping data shows Norwegian Pearl and Carnival Sunrise may have assisted in the search.” The latest word into Metal Sludge from multiple sources are alleging it was a Wife or a Fiancee’ of one of the band members who was performing on the ship. The 80’s Cruise lineup for 2025 is as follows according to the event’s official website.
